Photo challenge: Textures

I was walking along the Paradise beach in Goa, a few weeks ago, the tangles of seaweed struck my feet and the patterns they created made me fall in love.

There was some crazy balance at play there, a jazzy rhythm of vegetation, water, and earth.

The collocation of starkly different textures helped my attempt to capture a narrow strip of beach as if I were shooting a vast river estuary from a plane. The different colours and densities made it like a living map of a faraway, unknown place.

The softness of the sand seduced me like a lover, it’s smoothness lingered around my legs, long after I left and it’s ferocity felt so heavenly that every thought of it makes me want to go back.
